Pakistan lawyers give 7-day deadline to Sharif to quit

Pakistani lawyers have now set a deadline of seven days for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resign for Panama Papers scandal, otherwise, a national movement will be launched against him.
The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and the Lahore Superior Court Bar Association (LHCBA) announced their joint position on Saturday.
“The two bar associations are of the opinion that in light of the decision of the Supreme Court of Panama Papers case (which has called into question the moral authority of the prime minister to decide), Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should not Hold a position and must resign. ” a Joint statement issued by the two bar associations after their convention in Lahore May 20, 2017.
He indicated that the judgment in the Panama case clearly accused M. Sharif and his offspring of financial irregularities and corruption and a joint investigation team was formed to examine him.
“For a fair and independent investigation against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is expected to pick up the final report. If he does not resign before May 27 Pakistan’s lawyers would launch a campaign and a broad national movement to ensure his resignation,” he said. the notice.
Prior to the agreement, lawyers who support the PML-N decision were established with members of the two bar offices to prevent the launch of a move against the PM.
PML-N’s lawyers have the SCBA chairman, Rasheed A. Rizvi, in the Lahore High Court library. M. Rizvi was later released when the locks were broken by members of SCBA. The police were called to control the situation.
Later, lawyers led by M. Rizvi took a rally on the path to the mall to pressure the prime minister to resign.
The opposition believes Mr Sharif should resign following the lawyer’s move.
National Assembly President Ayaz Sadiq said M. Sharif would not resign and will remain prime minister on May 31, 2018.
M. Sharif survived three times in his favour on allegations of corruption in the case of Panama Papers April 20.
The case against M. Sharif came about last year after the Panama documents have failed their children to offshore companies in the British Virgin Islands with respect to buying luxury goods in London.
The opposition figures have accused Mr Sharif does not explain the source of foreign money and lie to Parliament. M. Sharif and his family have denied the allegations.
